Khalid at mypintu plate provides welcoming hospitality and a cooking experience second to none. We had a wonderful chat about food and he gave so many great recommendations. So much knowledge rests with Khalid, I recommend for anyone wishing to learn more about Malaysia and the cuisine!
We had the best experience learning to cook some local dishes with Kahlid, including char kway teow, nasi Lemak and rendang chicken (our favourite). He took the time to explain each ingredient and how to prepare each dish. It was such a beautiful kitchen and everything was readily available to us. We felt like we learnt a lot and can’t wait to try out cooking these dishes at home.
Had a great cooking class with Khalid here! He taught me how to make 3 dishes (char kway teow, nasi lemak and the amazing nonya dessert onde onde) and most importantly what makes a good sambal. We discussed the local cuisine and links with the history of Malaysia. It was a very hands on class and a very enjoyable meal after that. Thank you!
We had a lovely cooking class with Khalid he is such a great chef and has so many amazing stories to share, it was so much fun cooking together and learning about the recipes from the region. Khalid is also amazing at recommending the best places to eat in Penang! Highly recommended.
Khalid was an excellent instructor in the art of cooking Malaysian food! We made three different items in just over 3 hours and had wonderful discussions as we cooked. He told me which foods could be substituted if I couldn't find certain ingredients when I got home, and was overall very interesting and educated and an exceptional teacher. I really enjoyed cooking with Khalid!
Wir sind über Google auf Khalid aufmerksam geworden und haben einen Kochkurs bei ihm gebucht. Er hat sich sehr viel Zeit genommen uns die Malaysische Küche zu erklären und auch die typischen Gerichte, die wir kochen sollten. Alles war perfekt vorbereitet und wir hatten sehr viel Spaß. Meine Frau ist Vegetarierin und was uns sehr beeindruckt hat war, dass er für alle Fleischgerichte die passende vegetarische Alternative parat hatte. Wir können den Kochkurs mit Khalid sehr empfehlen.
A fantastic cooking experience with Khalid. Khalid was so welcoming and was very open to showing us the dishes that we were interested in. As soon as we got there we were made to feel at home. We had such a wonderful time learning from Khalid but also chatting and getting to know him and his life in George Town. The recipes he showed us were amazing and we are fully enthused to cook them at home. A brilliant experience that added so much to our time in Penang.
